Growing kai for the community

We are pleased to donate more than half of the kai we grow to our community, those who may not otherwise have access to organically grown, nutrient dense kai. In 2025 we donated over 300kgs of produce to organisations feeding the community. This year we are aiming to donate even more! We also donate some kai to our volunteers in acknowledgement of the time and energy they put into supporting us.

We currently have two community partners we donate to weekly:

Te Whare Hapori o ngā Puna Waiora | Newtown Community Centre who use our veggies in their Quick Kai meals and for their Free Soup Fridays. It’s a great feeling to help feed Newtowners with kai grown in Newtown.

Compassion Soup Kitchen Te Kīhini Hupa o Pūaroha on Tory Street, who do incredible mahi providing thousands of free meals each month.

We currently don’t have capacity for any more weekly donations, but we may be able to support your charity or event with a one off donation of produce! Please email community@kaicycle.org.nz with at least two weeks notice if you would like to receive a donation. This is subject to kai availability and alignment with our kaupapa.
