In honour of Local Food Week 2025, Neighbour's Aotearoa, and International Children's Day we are hosting a Local as Lunch! Nau mai, haere mai, we'd love for you to join us!
Join us from 10am to get stuck into some mahi māra, harvesting, and preparing kai straight from the garden for a community lunch. We'll sit down together for a picnic at 12.30pm. All are welcome to enjoy the kai we have prepared – please bring kai to share if you can. This is also our monthly community open day, so feel free to join the other activities on the day that include a working bee from 9am to 12.30pm, a farm tour at 1.30pm, and a koha workshop on soil health at 2pm. Visit the Kaicycle website for more information: https://kaicycle.org.nz/community-days
This event is weather dependent so in the event of a bad weather forecast, make sure to check our Facebook page for updates!
Please bring:
- Some kai to share (if you can)
- A picnic blanket/deck chair
- A bowl, cup, and cutlery
- Warm and waterproof clothing (just in case)
Kaicycle is wheelchair accessible and has a portaloo. Please note we also have beehives on site. All parking on Hospital Road is for hospital staff so we recommend walking, cycling or bussing where possible (the nearest bus stop is outside Woolworths, Newtown)
