Takatāpui māra hangout

  • Kaicycle Urban Farm 5 Hospital Road Wellington New Zealand (map)

This series of fun and dirty events will include hands on māra activities like weeding, harvesting and planting while having a chance for cute chats with like minded folks. Shared lunch too! Your host for the day will be local takatāpui māra fairy Tina Walker-Ferguson.

We can provide gloves and tools. Bring a plate of kai for a shared lunch (no worries if you can't bring kai, you're still most welcome)

This event is designed for takatāpui Māori, we also welcome Tagata Pasifika and BIPOC whānau. This is for a kaupapa Māori foremost. Please sign up by completing this form.

Transport and parking:  We have no dedicated farm parking and most of the parking on Hospital Road is for hospital staff. On the weekends the hospital staff carpark is pretty empty and I’d usually park there and move my car if I sense any parking ticketgivers, but there is a chance you could get a ticket if you do this. There is also coupon parking nearby but this is nearly always full, or free parking on Adelaide road (5+ minutes walk). We recommend walking, cycling, carpooling or bussing where possible. The nearest bus-stops are on Adelaide Road or outside the Woolworths on John Street.
